Hello Grand Rapids!

Thank you so much for checking out the blog. Our event, dancdancedonation, is about combining two things we love to do: 1. Going out and dancing to fun music. 2. Helping our community.
And so, dunh, dunh, dunh, DUNHHHHHH! dancedancedonation was born. We- Kristen, Shea, Melanie, Amy and Audrey are all super excited to get our groove on with all of you! The boogie-ing happens December 19th at the Sazerac Lounge, from 8pm-2am. Brett, the owner of the Saz has been very generous in offering his establishment to host us. We’re really grateful for his support.
Our goal is to have a fun night of dancing while helping people in our community for whom the holidays are extra stressful. After some research we’ve decided to donate to two local charities: First, we’d like to collect unwrapped gifts to be donated to Wellhouse Community Living. Well House Seeks to help provide the transition between emergency and permanent shelter for homeless women and families, and to provide activities that foster new directions and goals. They are a wonderful organization who really focus on a holistic approach to ending homelessness.
Second, the cover charge ($2 with a gift, $5 without), plus proceeds from the raffle and cake/sweets walk will be donated to an organization called Elves & More of West Michigan. Elves & More uses donations to purchase bikes for kids. For more information about Elves & More and their impact on the community visit their website at http://elvesandmorewestmi.org
More details to be announced, including which businesses have donated prizes for the raffle and what gifts are needed. We hope that you can join us on December 19th at the Saz!
